I found this place in a trail guidebook. It’s funny that I’ve been on the trails in this area a number of times and never made my way to this area. It’s part of the remnants of an old public campground that closed many years ago. Most people that hike in the area follow the river trail that leads to the waterfall. On this particular trip, I decided to seek out the hillside trail and see what was left.

I’ve been going through my photographs from the past year and found this. When I took it, I didn’t realize the leg of the tripod was resting on the edge of the scale.

I was driving around recently and saw this abandoned gas station. When I walked around the other side of the building, I made this photograph. I had read an interview in PDN magazine with Stephen Shore and Gregory Crewdson a few days before and saw the parallels between this scene and Shore’s “Beverly Boulevard and La Brea Avenue” photograph.

This is my newest film camera- a 1950’s Agfa Isolette folder. I’m looking forward to using this.

Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with different light. This is the full illumination of a magicube through the Fresnel lens on the Big Shot camera. I wasn’t expecting it to overexpose like this, but I like the result.
Taken with a Polaroid Big Shot camera using Fuji FP100B film and a GE Magicube.

It’s been tough photographing outside with all the snow we’ve had in the Northeast. This is from one of the last snowstorms shooting from the deck. I thought the reflections of light off the windows cast an interesting shadow.
Taken with a Canon 40D.

Haven’t posted much over the past year, but I’m still taking photos. This is a shot from July. I was looking at the water and the flames and tried to capture them.
