Seven Pounds

February 29, 2012

I’ve been going through my photographs from the past year and found this.  When I took it, I didn’t realize the leg of the tripod was resting on the edge of the scale.

Taken with a Canon 40 D.

Isolette

June 5, 2011

This is my newest film camera- a 1950’s Agfa Isolette folder.  I’m looking forward to using this.

Overexposed

February 6, 2011

Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with different light.  This is the full illumination of a magicube through the Fresnel lens on the Big Shot camera.  I wasn’t expecting it to overexpose like this, but I like the result.

Taken with a Polaroid Big Shot camera using Fuji FP100B film and a GE Magicube.

Holga

February 27, 2010

I recently scanned another roll of negatives from last year and found this photograph.  I like the way it shows a sense of space and dimension.  Even though I think it’s totally different from what I saw in the viewfinder.  When using the Holga, I usually shoot the same scene with my digital.  I didn’t with this one.

Taken with a Holga 120N using Kodak BW400CN film.

Reflection

Another one from the fateful day.  This is the very next frame from Impressionist Landscape.  The knee hasn’t improved much and I’m still out of work.  I’m using the time to work on an upcoming exhibit.  Details to follow….

Last One (I Promise!)

I took this photograph on the same trip as this one.  I wanted to have basically the same shot to compare my digital with the Holga and the Polaroid.  The film was damaged, so my Holga shot of this didn’t come out.  Maybe next time!

Taken with a Canon 40D.

First Shots With the Holga

April 5, 2009

car-1

I finally got the first roll of film developed. I brought the camera with me on a trip to the woods and shot a couple of frames of the old car I’ve posted so often. I left the 6×6 mask in the camera to see what would happen. Now I’ve taken it out and taped up the inside of the camera.

Taken with a Holga 120N on Kodak BW400 CN film.

I Bought a Holga

February 14, 2009

After seeing the work some of my friends have done, I finally broke down and bought myself a Holga. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can create with it.  I’ve had my Polaroids for a few years now and with the film supplies starting to dry up, I’m looking at shifting to another format for my film explorations.  I’ve been really busy with a couple of projects and haven’t been able to post much.  I’ve got a lot of new work that I’ve got to sort through and I’ll be sure to post some here.

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders at Photo Plus Expo 2008

Photo Plus 2008

October 26, 2008

Photo Plus Expo was well worth the six hours on the train to get there and back.  When I got to the Javits Center around 11:00, I didn’t know where to start.  I saw Vincent La Foret presenting his film “Reverie,” shot with the new Canon 5D Mark II.  I then went straight to the Canon display and actually held one in my hand for a moment.  The show seemed bigger than last years and I didn’t get to see everything I wanted.  I did make it to the Epson booth and get a signed print from Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.  Hopefully I can budget enough to stay longer next year.
