2nd and Main

October 16, 2011

I was driving around recently and saw this abandoned gas station.  When I walked around the other side of the building, I made this photograph.   I had read an interview in PDN magazine with Stephen Shore and Gregory Crewdson a few days before and saw the parallels between this scene and Shore’s “Beverly Boulevard and La Brea Avenue” photograph.

This is a new adventure for me.  I’ve only been seriously interested in photography for about seven or eight years.  I’m a recent graduate of RISD, through their Continuing Ed. program.  I use a variety of Polaroid cameras along with my Canon Digital to create my art. My goal for this blog is to share my thoughts about what I’m working on, post some of my works, and link to things that I find helpful or interesting as I explore photography.
