This is my newest film camera- a 1950’s Agfa Isolette folder.  I’m looking forward to using this.

Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with different light.  This is the full illumination of a magicube through the Fresnel lens on the Big Shot camera.  I wasn’t expecting it to overexpose like this, but I like the result.

I recently scanned another roll of negatives from last year and found this photograph.  I like the way it shows a sense of space and dimension.  Even though I think it’s totally different from what I saw in the viewfinder.  When using the Holga, I usually shoot the same scene with my digital.  I didn’t with this one.

Here’s another Holga shot from Beavertail.

Beavertail Light

Springtime view of Beavertail Light in Jamestown, RI.  I finally scanned the negatives from my Holga and thought I’d upload this.

Polaroid Week 2009

May 9, 2009

This past week was ‘Roid Week 2009 on flickr, and it doesn’t have anything to do with Manny Ramirez or A-Rod.   It’s the week to celebrate by shooting with a Polaroid camera.  It’s a rather odd juxtaposition to be celebrating the birthday of Dr. Edwin Land, the inventor of instant photography as the medium he created is dying out.  At least Fuji hasn’t abandoned the instant film photographer by continuing to make and market a great replacement product.

This photograph is entitled “Retro” and was shot with a Polaroid SX-70 Alpha 1 Model 2 camera on type 600 film.

First Shots With the Holga

April 5, 2009

I finally got the first roll of film developed. I brought the camera with me on a trip to the woods and shot a couple of frames of the old car I’ve posted so often. I left the 6×6 mask in the camera to see what would happen. Now I’ve taken it out and taped up the inside of the camera.

Back Into The Woods

March 19, 2009

This is a shot from my trip to the John Chafee nature preserve at Rome Point. I like the starkness of the winter landscape. After I shot this photograph, I saw a small herd of deer, but they weren’t posing that day.  I wasn’t going to post this one because I thought it was overexposed.  But I showed it to a friend and she really liked it.

Another Trip to the Woods

March 7, 2009

This one was taken on the same trip at the last post.  I brought the Polaroid to try out the Fuji Fp3000B film.  I bought the pack over a year ago and it’s been sitting in the back of my fridge while I’ve been going through my stash of expired Polaroid film.  So far, I think it holds up to what I liked about Polaroid 667 and seems to be a worthy replacement.
